It´s working now.
What fixed it was running the Progress.exe
The Problem with using the .msi installer was, that it wanted a missing .cab file which was not included.

Now i have the uptodate Application, driver and firmware, but it is not getting any data. Connection seems to be fine. The LEDs are as expected (Power green blinking and channels blue). Streaming works, but auto and trigger not. Its a v1.5 scope.
update: for some reason it's going now

Hello,
on a new Win11 Laptop, the install is flawless, but the trigger isn't working again, even on the PC it has been working before.
I did a firmware update to check if that helps, but it did not. The firmware btw is a little bit confusing. I'm sure we have a v1.5 scope, but the ROM loader wanted to flash the 766x -> 7663 firmware. Is that OK? Flashing back to 7551 isn't possible even by selecting the 7551 firmware manually.
The Status now says: JV10155 (CS548 V1.1), FW:v7663, HW:v5.1, Status:Available
Don't know were i got the v1.5 from, but v1.1 shouldn't be existing, or am i wrong?
Best Regards
Johannes

Hello Johannes.
I am not understanding the triggering again. Please do not flash with 7663, it is 500 MSPS, and will probably fail to align the ADC's poperly (Blue lights on). We need to get rid of it, please delete yours. We do have a new ROM Loader which will not allow it. We have changed to 77xx for 500 MSPS from now.
You can flash to 7662, this is the latest 400 MSPS firmware.
We have too many versions, as a historical thing. The overall version is 5.1. The main board version you have is 1.1 The latest board with 500 MSPS ADC's is overall v5.2. (The CS448 was v4, the CS328A is version 3).
I will send you an .apc file tomorrow (here it is later in the evening), in which I know the triggering works. Are you sure you do not have trigger 2 used, with an impossible to meet setup?
Make sure the Trigger 1~2 area has Use = None. Set the Trigger 1 value to about 0.1V Make sure the time axis is less than 10ms from left to right, and centred on 0 (click the 0 with a vertical stroke through it). Click the Connection chain link so the scope connects. Then click Auto, and stuff should happen. YOu need 7662 in the scope, NOT 7663.
Please let me know what happens. Regards, Bart

Hello Bart,
i'm using (the latest?) ROM Loader v8.68 and it offers me the 7663 as latest version.
Downgrade to 7662 has been successfull and it's working fine now.
Thanks
BTW: Our IT updated nimdnsNSP.dll and nimdnsResponder.dll to a newer version to get rid of an "This module is blocked from loading into the Local Security Authority." Warning.

Hi Johannes,
Unfortunately it is not really the latest. We made a mistake in allowing 7663 to be compatible with both 5.1 and 5.2 boards. Here we had 5.1 boards in which the ADC's worked perfectly fine at 500 MSPS, and all leds are green.
However it seems we were really lucky. That is not the usual situation. In your case, I'd bet the led's were blue, and the scope would not acquire because the acqusition system was not synched.
So we have built a new Rom Loader which knows about this, and branched the firmware so 76xx is 400 MSPS and 77xx is 500 MSPS. That's all done, but we are trying to get another couple of functions complete at the same time. Maybe it is time to do the update anyway.
kind regards
Bart

Thanks for the note on nimdnsNSP.dll and nimdnsResponder.dll, we will make sure we do the same.

We look forward to a new version. Until then, everything is up and running and we can take the measurements.
I can't say for sure, but yes you are right, i think the LEDs have been blue.

This issues still isnt fixed!! Tried to install 5.05.23 on a Windows 11 machine and same symptoms as reported in this thread - install via setup.exe freezes and has be killed via task manager. If you use the install windows installer pacakage it reports a missing cab file. Using progress.exe got the Cleverscope software in but no drivers. I then had to manually install the drivers via device manager and pointing it at directory with drivers and now working. It is a good job I still know my way around windows machines ...
BTW I am getting a security issue flagged as follows:

Hello charlie,
the latest package for CS548 should be 5.05.34 or do you have a CS448 or CS328A?
To get rid of the security flag you can manually update the nimdnsNSP.dll and nimdnsResponder.dll to a newer version you can find at National Instruments.
Unfortunately, the new version with the bug fixes does not seem to be ready yet.

Hi Johannes - Thanks and also for the tips on using progress.exe!! We have a CS448 (since March 2018) so had to use the 5.05.23 and was on site yesterday so needed to get the software installed quickly!! I will check out NI site for the other file updates.

I have just done a clean Win11 install of 5.5.23 and also had to register on NI to download the updated nimdns files after getting the module blocked message after rebooting.
This issue should be a separate pinned thread until resolved in the installer, as it doesn't relate to the thread title.

Hello,
the new version (5.05.35) for the CS548 has just been released, and both the installation and NI drivers have been fixed, at least for me.
