Subject to registration of ownership within one month of purchase (automatic for web purchasers) we will continue to support and repair at no charge any units returned to our office after the warranty period where the fault would have been covered as below.
All freight, duties and customs charges are the responsibility of the owner.

Repair Policy

Cleverscope’s policy is to achieve service for the customer in as short a time as is practical. Provided the faulty equipment is cosmetically suitable, the customer will usually be sent a replacement immediately. The replacement may be new or refurbished, but will be of an equivalent standard to the equipment returned. Cleverscope keeps the returned unit. On occasions Cleverscope will work with the customer to effect correct operation if there is a software or operational problem before swapping units.
Where the equipment is returned outside the warranty period, the customer is responsible for freight and refurbishment costs.  Freight costs are to and from Cleverscope in New Zealand. Cleverscope will provide a Fedex Freight account if required. Costs will be invoiced to the customer after completion of refurbishment. Cleverscope will give its best endeavours to keep the refurbishment costs to a minimum.
Where the equipment is returned in the first year, Cleverscope will provide, at its discretion, freight account details to send the goods to Cleverscope, and return a replacement unit to the customer. Discretion is due to unusual or high cost of freight, which is beyond Cleverscope's control.  In all cases, the warranty wording below applies.

Warranty

Two years from production date.
Cleverscope warrants that the product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 24 months from the production date. If the product proves defective during this warranty period, Cleverscope, at its option, will either repair the defective product without charge for parts and labor, or will provide a replacement in exchange for the defective product. Batteries are excluded from this warranty. Parts, modules and replacement products used by Cleverscope for warranty work may be new or reconditioned to like new performance. All replaced parts, modules and products become the property of Cleverscope.
In order to obtain service under this warranty, the Customer must notify Cleverscope of the defect before the expiration of the warranty period and make suitable arrangements for the performance of service. Customer shall be responsible for packaging and shipping the defective product to the service center designated by Cleverscope, shipping charges prepaid or using a freight account offered by Cleverscope, at its discretion. Cleverscope shall pay for the return of the product to Customer, at its discretion. Customer shall be responsible for paying all duties, taxes, and any other charges required in order to ship the product.
This warranty shall not apply to any defect, failure or damage caused by improper use or improper or inadequate maintenance and care. Cleverscope shall not be obligated to furnish service under this warranty a) to repair damage resulting from attempts by personnel other than Cleverscope representatives or their agents to install, repair or service the product; b) to repair damage resulting from improper use or connection to incompatible equipment; c) to repair any damage or malfunction caused by the use of non-Cleverscope supplies; or d) to service a product that has been modified or integrated with other products when the effect of such modification or integration increases the time or difficulty of servicing the product.
This warranty is given by Cleverscope with respect to the product in lieu of any other warranties, express or implied. Cleverscope and its vendors disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Cleverscope's responsibility to repair or replace defective products is the sole and exclusive remedy provided to the customer for breach of this warranty. Cleverscope and its vendors will not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages irrespective of whether Cleverscope or the vendor has advance notice of the possibility of such damages.

Production Date

The production date is derived from the serial number.
The first letter gives the month in which production occurred (A= 1, B=2 .. K=11, L=12)
The second letter gives the year in which production occurred (A = 2001, B = 2002 ..)
